The State Home Oil Weatherization (SHOW) Program provides cash payments to eligible homeowners and contractors. This applies to both for-profit and non-profit contractors. The incentive pays to install energy-efficient heating equipment and to make home weatherization improvements. Eligible projects include heating equipment, duct sealing and insulation, dwelling insulation, windows and doors, and whole house measures. An annual Petroleum Supplier Assessment provides funding for the program, and all applications are subject to the availability of funds.
Eligible dwellings must receive their primary heating fuel from a fuel oil dealer. Eligible fuel oil dealers are those who retail at least heating oil or dyed diesel, but any other fuel purchased from them is eligible. Dwelling owners (including rental property owners) and contractors are eligible to apply.
A two-tier system awards the cash payments to allow for varied income eligibility. The income of the occupying household residing in the dwelling at the time of application determines eligibility. To be considered eligible, household income must be low-income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Household income eligibility requirements are produced by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Total cash payment over the lifetime of the SHOW Program for all measure categories awarded to a single dwelling may not exceed $10,200. Applicants may not submit more than one SHOW Program application per unique measure per dwelling.
Cash Payment Tiers
The program awards Tier 1 cash payments to eligible low-income applicants. This includes applicants who represent low-income households. All measure costs may be counted towards the following lifetime maximum cash payments:
